The Lahontan cutthroat trout is the largest inland trout species in the world and a deeply important fish for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.
Sixty years ago, it was thought that the species had been extirpated from the closed-loop basin that connects Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake via the Truckee River. This is the story of their recovery, in partnership with U.S. Fish & Wildlife.
