Drought Resilience: Casad Family Farm

The Casad Family moved their farm from the Bend area to North Unit in pursuit of more land to grow storage crops and livestock. Not long after, the area faced a severe drought that cut their water delivery to about 1/3 of the farm’s allotment. They adapted and faced the losses of season, but the drought illuminated the faults in the area’s water delivery system to expose avoidable water loss throughout the season and ways to make what water they do get last longer into the season.
